Show us yours! (Macs in business, that is)

By MacEdition Staff, 11 August 2000

When Apple was on Death Watch, everybody in the Mac community (especially the Mac web) searched for signs of life – an All-in-One here, a Twentieth Anniversary Mac there. These sightings provided hope for the faithful and allowed the company to continue putting its products in front of those who might recognize them.

That was then (only three short years ago). Now, Apple has shaken its “beleaguered” status and returned to the role of profitable company. With sales of millions of additional units over the past few years, it could almost be expected to encounter a Mac (or three) in the course of everyday life.

These days, it’s not so important where you see a Mac, but what it is doing. These are the stories we want to tell, the stories about the companies (large or small) who depend on the Macintosh platform to accomplish their goals. We want to hear about the graphic and print houses, the legal offices, the veterinarians, all those places where the Mac isn’t just a showpiece, but a part of the everyday routine.

Tell us about it!

We would like to hear from any of you who run your business on the Macintosh platform. From the responses, we will pick businesses to spotlight and provide an in-depth review of how the Macintosh platform helps (and hurts) in the execution of your business needs.

If you submit your business, give us a little detail about how Macs figure into your company, and please be prepared to be contacted by someone on the MacEdition staff, following up, asking more questions, diving into the issues surrounding your business and your Mac usage.

We will then filter through the submissions, and publish the compelling stories of how real-world business problems are solved using the Macintosh platform.
