Message to our readers

As you will have worked out by now, for the best part of a week, the MacEdition Web site at http://www.macedition.com has been inaccessible. This occurred due to an administrative problem with the registrar of our domain. Our domain registration has always been fully paid in advance of the due date for payment. Despite this, the registrar has managed to delete the macedition.com entry in the main domain name servers, upon which all the other DNS servers on the Internet rely. We hope that it will come back up in the next few days.
Until then, we are operating a backup version of the site at http://old.macedition.com/. All the content is available there, but our reader feedback feature is temporarily disabled. Our regular macedition.com e-mail addresses are also currently inaccessible, but you can contact MacEdition staff on the macedition.net versions of the same addresses.
Although this mess is no fault of our own, we sincerely apologise to all our readers for the inconvenience. We will still be updating MacEdition with fresh content at the alternative address.
